Two weeks of waiting
π¨ Fear The doctor wants more tests. Results in two weeks. I haven't told Mum, because she'd worry for both of us.
π Calm Two weeks is two weeks. Nothing to decide tonight.
This is an example journal. Everything in it is made up. It shows how entries look: each line can say which emotion is speaking, and you can reply to your own entries months or years later.
π¨ Fear The doctor wants more tests. Results in two weeks. I haven't told Mum, because she'd worry for both of us.
π Calm Two weeks is two weeks. Nothing to decide tonight.
3 years ago β anything to say to yourself?
π Joy I handed in my notice today. Six years, and I walked out at four.
π¨ Fear With nothing lined up. Rent is due on the 3rd and I've told nobody.
The 15-year-old Finally.
π Sadness Five months in. Money is tight, and some days I miss the people more than I expected to.
π€ Doubt You were right to be frightened. You were also right to go.
4 years ago β anything to say to yourself?
Christmas at Dad's. He asked about work again, the same question in the same voice.
π Anger I'm thirty-four.
π Calm He asks because it's the only question he knows how to ask.
He asked about the garden this year. I don't know which of us changed.
Your journal starts empty, and only you can read it.
π Joy All clear. I cried in the car park.
π€ Doubt Do I tell Mum now that there's nothing to worry about?
